Dashboards are created using the dashboard editor, then they are viewed using either the Data Analysis tab or inside of a publication using navigation links.
When creating dashboard, we have the choice to either create a solution, which is a series of pre-configured dashboards or to create a custom dashboard. In this article we will walk through the steps to create a custom dashboard.
- Go to the Data Analysis Tab
- Click on the button Create Dashboard, this will open the dashboard interface in a new browser tab
Creating a Dataset
- In the new browser tab, the datasets tab will list all the data currently setup for use in a dashboard. You can create a new query using the queries tab of the core application, see here. Alternatively you can write a SQL query using the SQL lab functionality in then dashboard interface
Creating Charts
- When you have created your dataset(s), you can create charts to add to your dashboard. Go to the charts tab
- Click + Chart
- Select the dataset and chart type you want to use then click create new chart
- Begin dropping fields from your dataset into the chart builder and click save when done
Creating Dashboard
- When you have created the charts, you can begin creating the dashboard. Go to the dashboards tab
- Click on + Dashboard
- Saved charts appear on the right side, simply click to add them into the dashboard and re-size as needed
- Your new dashboard will automatically appear within the data analysis tab within the core enterprise insight application
